Fashion is more than threads and seams; it’s a canvas for stories of inspiration, perseverance, and craftsmanship. “My goal is to create a brand and its story, not just to make clothes,” says Vasilisa Kozhemiako, the founder of MYKAFTAN. Established in Dubai in 2017, the brand celebrates femininity with its exquisite range of kaftans, kimonos, sets, trench coats, and dresses. Every piece reflects a dedication to refinement in design, combining modern urban hints to the essence of Eastern culture.

Looking back to where it all started, Vasilisa Kozhemiako’s journey began in Shanghai, China, where her background in international trade introduced her to the world of fashion through a renowned fashion house. Inspired by her growing passion for design, she made the bold move to Dubai and founded her own brand. “I work hard on building the brand’s reputation, which is why I select the finest, unique fabrics—primarily from Europe—and pay close attention to every detail in my designs,” she explains, highlighting her commitment to the quality and craftsmanship.

Her rich experiences of living in different countries have shaped MYKAFTAN into a perfect fusion of Eastern and Western influences. Among her inspirations, traditional Arabic style stands out, guiding her vision to design elegant, feminine clothing that aligns with the vibrant, multicultural rhythm of modern city life. “I’m also deeply committed to the sustainability of our fabrics and ensuring fair labour practices.” emphasises the founder. “My pieces are crafted with joy to bring positive energy to people.”
MYKAFTAN swiftly garnered attention, debuting at Dubai Modest Fashion Week in 2019 and earning endorsements from influential local stylists and influencers. The brand has since been featured in esteemed local and international publications.“The brand’s visual identity is crucial to me, so I collaborate with photographers, models, and editors who share my vision and aesthetic,” states the founder, highlighting the key element behind her brand’s growing success.
